Success Factory - October 2007
35 young people spent a day enjoying Falconry, Archery and working on high and low ropes at the Success Factory in October
The event organised by the GGH Tenant Participation Team was designed to build on the self confidence of the young people and encourage them to be involved in team activities.
The young people all from areas covered by Stronger Together in Warrington attended the event as part of an ongoing 12 month project. The idea of the project being carried out in partnership with Play Development and the Youth Service is to encourage young people between the ages of 8 and 13 years to get involved in local activities of interest. |

Longford Clean Up & Fun Day - August 2007
We regularly have skip days and clean-up days on estates to enhance their appearance and help tenants to discard rubbish. During August’s school holidays Longford’s skip day also involved the community in a Fun Day at St Stephens School. The event was supported by many local agencies who provided free advice, face-painting, games, fruit and entertainment for the 80 residents and children that attended. Everyone enjoyed the day and thanked and all the agencies for their efforts.
While all the fun was happening, we removed 3.5 tonnes of rubbish from 11 gardens and 29 large skips were filled. The event was very successful, which we hope to repeat in the future and in other areas.

Youth Conference
GGH’s Youth Conference was a great success with 50 teenagers from numerous estates attending and giving us their views on our services. The young people took part in several consultations and have already given us important information about their priorities and how together we can improve our communities.
The conference was very well supported with 14 agencies attending and providing information about the many opportunities and activities there are for young people in Warrington.
|
The event was very interactive with art workshops, music, games, raffles and even a visit from some of the Wolves players. Pictured are Haydn Haughton who won a signed rugby ball and Josh Bowen who won the CD player.
GGH will be looking build on this success and continue to develop further involvement with the young people of our Town.
